Curvature of Field/Power Error

Occurs because the effective power of the lens varies from the center to the periphery. This is why movie theaters will curve the periphery of their screens, to ensure the image is clear all the way to the edge of the image. Power Error can be accommodated for in spectacles by adjusting the base curve.
